Here is a snippet from the first draft of a poster series we just started working on. We’re doing 7 posters—each one illustrating one of the 7 cooperative principles. What is a worker cooperative, you ask? It’s a business model where the workers are the owners, thus it makes decisions as a whole about how to operate the business. In many ways, it operates just like a “standard” business, but at the end of the day, if have control of your working environment—from wages and company policy, to how much vacation time everyone gets.

We’re working on these in partnership with Cooperation Texas, an organization that helps people form worker cooperatives, as well as provides support for existing worker cooperatives. I’ll be posting more previews as the process goes on, so check back for more!
